These Arada Bet bet settlement rules explain how winning bets, losing bets, void bets, refunds and cancelled events are handled for players in Ethiopia. A final result depends on the selected market, sport, official result and the applicable Terms and Conditions. This guide covers common settlement scenarios, but specific market rules may apply.

What Bet Settlement Means at Arada Bet

Bet settlement is the final calculation of a wager after the relevant result has been confirmed. A settled bet can have one of several statuses:

  • Won: the selected outcome was correct.
  • Lost: the selected outcome was not correct.
  • Void: the bet is cancelled and the stake is normally returned.
  • Partially void: part of a market or combination is cancelled where the market rules allow it.
  • Cashout settled: if cash out is available for your market, the bet is settled at the accepted cash out amount.

Settlement is based on official information and the rules for the specific market, not solely on a score shown during an event.

How Winning Bets Are Calculated

Arada Bet generally uses decimal odds. The total return includes the original stake, while profit is the amount earned above that stake.

Potential return = stake × odds
Net profit = potential return − stake

For example, if a player stakes ETB 100 at odds of 2.50, the potential return is ETB 250. The net profit is ETB 150 because the ETB 100 stake is included in the total return.

Bonus funds and free bets may have separate calculation, withdrawal or stake-return rules. Check the Arada Bet bonus code page before using promotional funds.

Single Bets, Accumulators and System Bets

Single bets

A single bet is placed on one selection. If that selection wins, the stake is multiplied by the accepted odds. If it loses, the stake is lost. If it is void, the stake is normally returned.

Accumulators

An accumulator, also called a multi bet, contains two or more selections. In most cases, all active selections must win. When one selection is void, its odds usually become 1.00 and the remaining selections continue in the calculation.

Accumulator example:
Stake: ETB 100
Selection A: 1.80 — won
Selection B: 2.00 — void
Selection C: 1.50 — won
Final odds: 1.80 × 1.00 × 1.50 = 2.70
Return: ETB 270

System bets

A system bet is made up of smaller combinations. A void selection may reduce the number of active combinations or change the final return. The exact outcome depends on the system type and its market rules.

What Is a Void Bet?

A void bet is neither a winning nor losing bet. In most cases, the stake is returned after the market is reviewed, and odds of 1.00 are used when a void selection appears in an accumulator.

A bet may be voided because an event was cancelled, a match was abandoned and not completed within the official settlement period, an obvious pricing error occurred, a player did not participate, a market was offered incorrectly, duplicate data was detected, the official result could not be confirmed, or the event format changed materially.

Refunds and Returned Stakes

A refund is the return of the original stake. It is not a bonus and it is not a winning payment. Refunded funds may appear on the main balance, on a bonus balance if a bonus stake was used, or after a manual review of a disputed settlement.

Situation Typical settlement
Match cancelled before start Stake refunded / bet void
Void selection in accumulator Selection odds set to 1.00
Obvious odds error Bet may be voided or recalculated
Official result confirmed Bet settled as won or lost
Bonus stake used Promotion rules may apply

Cancelled, Postponed and Abandoned Events

A cancelled event does not take place. A postponed event is moved to another time or date. An abandoned event starts but is not completed. A suspended market is temporarily closed for new bets.

If an event is postponed, Arada Bet may keep the bet open until the event is completed within the official settlement period. If it is not completed within that period, the bet may be voided. Read the applicable Terms and Conditions for market-specific time limits.

Football Bet Settlement Rules

For most football markets described as “90 minutes,” settlement is based on regular time plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are not included unless the market clearly states otherwise.

Own goals, VAR decisions and official score corrections can affect football bet settlement. First goalscorer, anytime scorer and other player markets depend on the player’s participation and the individual market rules. An abandoned match may only be settled for markets whose outcome was already finally determined before the interruption. See Arada Bet football for available football markets.

Live Bet Settlement and Odds Changes

Live bets follow the same basic settlement principles, but odds can change quickly. A bet may be rejected when the odds move before acceptance, and a delay may apply before confirmation. Suspended markets cannot accept new wagers.

The final live bet settlement follows official data, the relevant market rules and any later corrections to event information. Visit Arada Bet live for information about in-play betting.

Keno and Games Settlement

Keno and game results are settled differently from sports bets. They normally depend on the completed game round, the published paytable and the technical status of the game. A cancelled or interrupted round may be reviewed under the applicable product rules.

Players should check the separate rules for Arada Bet keno and Arada Bet games before placing a stake.

When a Bet May Be Recalculated

A settled bet may be recalculated if an official result is corrected, the wrong player, team or event was linked to a market, a data provider corrected an outcome, a technical error affected the displayed result, or market rules were applied incorrectly.

If a settlement error is found, Arada Bet may adjust the result according to the official rules. Check your bet history and contact support if your balance does not match the expected outcome.

FAQ

What does void bet mean at Arada Bet?

A void bet means the selection is not treated as a win or a loss. The stake is normally returned after review. In an accumulator, a void selection usually receives odds of 1.00, so the other active selections remain part of the final calculation.

How are winning bets calculated?

For decimal odds, multiply the stake by the accepted odds to find the total return. For example, ETB 100 at 2.50 returns ETB 250. The profit is ETB 150 because the original ETB 100 stake is included in the total return.

What happens if one selection in my accumulator is void?

Usually, the void selection is settled at odds of 1.00. The accumulator is then calculated using the remaining active selections. However, system bets and selected special markets may follow different rules, so the ticket details and relevant market rules should be checked.

Are extra time and penalties included in football settlement?

They are usually excluded from standard 90-minute football markets. Regular time includes stoppage time, but not extra time or penalty shoot-outs. Extra time and penalties are included only when the market title or rules expressly state that they count.

Why was my bet refunded instead of paid as a win?

A refund can occur when an event is cancelled, postponed beyond the settlement period, abandoned, incorrectly offered, or affected by an unconfirmed official result. A refund returns the stake; it does not create a profit or count as a winning bet.

Can Arada Bet recalculate a settled bet?

Yes. A settlement may be corrected if official results change, a data error is identified, the wrong event was connected to the market, or the applicable market rule was not applied correctly. Any correction should follow the published rules and official event information.

How do I dispute a bet settlement?

Check the settled ticket in your account first. Then contact support with the bet ID, event and market details, date and time, plus a screenshot where possible. Explain why you believe the settlement differs from the market rule or official result.
